The Arts in Medicine program at Miami Cancer Institute is seeking an empathic musician who is ready to engage patients in the creative arts.

We welcome musicians of varied experience, backgrounds and knowledge to facilitate patient-led creative experiences. The paid independent contractor position requires a one-year commitment of 20 hours per week on a flexible schedule, Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. at $38.46 per hour. The following includes a list of essential criteria and requirements for applicants interested in joining a dynamic fellowship.

• Established professional artist in the community
• Strong interpersonal skills with exceptional empathy, compassion, flexibility and dependability
• Prior experience or vested interest in facilitating creative art projects/experiences tailored to each patient in a healthcare setting for their health and well-being
• Sample of artistic work (video/audio performance, portfolio)
• Participate in a one- to two-week online “Artist in Healthcare” training program by UF Center for Arts in Medicine
• Mentor graduate creative arts students in the healthcare setting
• Ability to adapt to evolving healthcare settings: adhere to ethical practices, confidentiality and respect policies and procedures.
• Meet vaccination and background check requirements
